Honoree and Recipient of the 2023 W.W. Bill Gay Community Impact Award

Local real estate developer and philanthropist G. John Carey is the 2023 recipient of the W.W. “Bill” Gay Community Impact Award. “I am honored and humbled to be selected as the 2023 W.W. “Bill” Gay Community Impact Award recipient,” said Carey. “Mr. Gay was committed to serving the Jacksonville community and I share his passion for providing essential services. Over many years, the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast has delivered those vital services throughout its 14 branches and many program locations. The Winston Family YMCA has impacted the lives of children and families and continues to provide programs that make a difference in our community.

Honoree and Recipient of the 2022 W.W. Bill Gay Community Impact Award

Hugh Greene, who served as president and CEO of Baptist Health for nearly two decades, will be honored for his long-standing dedication, involvement, and philanthropic efforts towards building a stronger community healthcare system. Well-known for his commitment to social responsibility, Hugh exemplifies true leadership in the Jacksonville community.

“On behalf of the Winston Family YMCA, we are honored and thrilled to recognize Hugh Greene as the recipient of the W.W. ‘Bill’ Gay Community Impact Award at the 2022 Giving Tree Gala,” said Tim Burrows, District Executive Director of the Winston and Brooks Family YMCA. “Hugh’s servant leadership and dedication to care for others are a few of the many reasons that he was selected as this year’s recipient. We are grateful for Hugh’s talent and all of his accomplishments to champion healthcare for our Jacksonville community.”
